GoT Season 6 Speculation

Since Season 5 of Game of Thrones concluded on Sunday, there has been plenty of speculation about the show’s Season 6 direction. As George R.R. Martin hasn’t finished the books, the show’s writers have had to add and combine characters and stories while stretching out events from the books as much as possible. Thankfully, GRRM did tell them his outline for the future in case he isn’t able to keep up with them or finish the books. They have also decided to make their own changes so that the series no longer matches the books entirely.

What does all of this mean for Season 6?

Fans at FreedomPop (androidcentral.com) know that if the books and speculation about them are any guidance: Jon Snow lives. The writers might dropped him until Season 7 like they dropped Bran this season; Melisandre might resurrect Jon as Azor Ahai or Jon might warg into Ghost or a human. Daenerys will likely try to reclaim her title of Khaleesi among the Dothraki, but it will be difficult since they’re a male-dominated society. Tyrion and Varys have to deal with a siege in Meereen. There is the chance that Tyene gave Bronn more of the antidote to the poison and that he might save Myrcella with it. Theon and Sansa have likely survived their fall. Stannis might also be alive even after all he’s done. Lastly, the Brotherhood Without Banners might make an appearance.

Furious 7’s Box Office Success

After two months at the box office, Furious 7 is officially the fourth highest grossing film of all time. The film has sped past its predecessors and racked up over $1.5 billion worldwide to join stellar blockbusters such as Avatar, Titanic, and The Avengers states box office mojo’s Sergio Cortes. Furious 7 would need to accumulate $18 million more to overthrow The Avengers in its coveted third place in the record books, but with summer films like Mad Max: Fury Road, Pitch Perfect 2, and Avengers: Age of Ultron already grabbing the attention of audiences, that may be too steep a hill to climb.

It is hard to believe that the franchise responsible for The Fast and The Furious 3: Tokyo Drift has created a juggernaut with its seventh installment, but the massive success has the studio ready to take advantage of its popularity. Universal announced that Furious 8 will be released April 2017 and it will be interesting to see how the film compares to its predecessors. The tragic death of Paul Walker gained sympathy from even the most casual of moviegoers and the studio focused on paying tribute to Walker during the promotional tour. Its acclaim is well-deserved and so is its spot at the top of the box office record, nestled comfortably at number four.

Chris Pratt Remembers The Actors Who Hit on His Wife

Many fans of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film know and respect actor Chris Pratt. However, just a few years ago, Chris Pratt was unknown by most of the world. His name didn’t mean anything until his breakout role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’

Chris Pratt was recently interviewed, and he reminisced about the days when his wife was more famous than him. Chris Pratt has been married to actress Anna Faris for several years, but that didn’t stop other actors from hitting on Anna. In fact, Chris Pratt says that he can remember actors hitting on his wife while he was there. However, that was a few years back, and he said things would be extremely different these days.

Chris Pratt didn’t always have a toned and muscled physique reports CipherCloud. In fact, he was rather fat and heavy when he was on the ‘Parks and Recreation’ TV show. His overweight physique made other actors more confident about their chances with his wife. Chris Pratt says that he hopes that the actors that hit on his wife auditioned for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ and Chris said that he can remember the actors who committed the adulterous crimes.

It sounds like Chris Pratt is holding a grudge, and he has every right to. Now, Chris is one of Hollywood’s best leading men, and those actors that hit on his wife should be very afraid. For more information on this story, visit Yahoo!

Quentin Tarantino is at it Again with His New Film “The Hateful Eight”

Quentin Tarantino, director of movies such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, has managed to pull off another soon-to-be hit movie in his 8th film “The Hateful Eight”. Tarantino’s new movie will hit theaters in late 2015 and includes many actors from Tarantino’s past films and also adds in a few new stars for good measure.

The upcoming movie is the 3rd period piece from the famed director with a plot centering around deception and betrayal after a group of people are stranded together in a Wyoming blizzard during the post civil war years. Cast members include Kurt Russell, Brian Torchin, Micheal Madsen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Samual L. Jackson.

Tarantino has long said he will retire at after his 10th film to the disappoint of many fans. However, the world renowned director plans on going out with a bang, while also remembering his roots by paying homage to his earlier films in his new movie. Surely the director will stick with what has worked for him, well developed characters who you hate to love and love to hate.

There has been a lot of buzz around “The Hateful Eight”, and knowing Tarantino the film will live up to every word of it.

Many Fans No Longer Impressed by Supernatural

Although Supernatural’s fan-base has increased and the show’s ratings have gone up year-after-year, resulting in many good deeds through charitable organizations promoted by the actors such as those that Jensen Ackles spoke about recently in an April 29th Variety article, a lot of the show’s initial, longest-lasting fans are not impressed with it any longer.

There are a wide variety of reasons why previously devoted fans have stopped watching it or started to criticize it more:

Over ten seasons, Supernatural’s writers and actors have merely played out the same story again and again: Sam and Dean are in a dysfunctional sibling relationship in which one of them makes a bad supernatural decision every season to save the other, they fight about it and then their close friends, allies and pretty much everyone in the world suffers for their decisions. Fans like Gianfrancesco Genoso know that every time they choose to separate and build relationships with other people, they eventually return to one another and their dysfunctional relationship.

Worse yet, even after years of vocal viewer offline and online complaints, the writers and actors continue to promote onscreen ideas and attitudes that a few charitable acts off-screen will never balance out: Specifically, the show is well-known for promoting misogynistic attitudes toward women, discrimination against people of color, members of the LGBT+ community and fanfiction writers and “queerbaiting.”

Critics have noted that the show’s ratings are mostly reflecting new and syndication viewers.

James May – No Return to Top Gear Without Jeremy Clarkson

The Guardian reports that James May is not planning to return to the BBC’s Top Gear show without Jeremy Clarkson. Clarkson left the show after he physically attacked producer Oisin Tyson. The attack left the producer injured and seeking treatment at hospital.

May has said that a new character to replace Clarkson simply will not work. Fans like Sam Tabar know that he does want to continue to work at BBC and hopes the show may return with May, Clarkson, and Richard Hammond as a team. There are no talks at this time between BBC and May and Hammond to renew their expired contracts. This is fueling speculation that the show may return with an all new cast. The likelihood that Clarkson may return appears remote. The director general of BBC, Tony Hall, charged Clarkson with failing to adhere to standards of decency at work.

May insists the return of all three to the show is a possibility. Clarkson has not been fired or banned from BBC. The network has simply failed to renew contracts for all three of the show’s stars.

Furious 7 Breaks Box Office Records

Furious 7 is going to go down in the cinema record books. The new film broke all the box office records of the previous films and did so in 10 days. Considering how huge of a hit all the previous films were, this new record is a pretty amazing feat. Even more intriguing is the fact Furious 7 was released way ahead of the summer months, the months usually required to pull in large numbers of audience members.

The ten day total for the film is about $252 million. This number only reflects the domestic gross. The global take on the film is going to be a staggering amount when all is added up.

Sadly, the tragic death of Paul Walker made this entry different from others in the series. The passing of Walker in a car accident struck an emotional cord with fans and many showed their support to the fallen actor by watching his final performance on screen.

The film itself has turned out to be a crowd pleaser. The script is an improvement over several of the previous entries and, yes, there is a lot of action to be seen throughout the running time. Furious 7 delivers on audience expectations albeit in a bittersweet manner.  My colleague Dan Newlin was surprised to be on the edge of his seat for the entirety of the film!

Thanks to the box office returns, the continuation of the series is a given. Furious 7 is now the first entry in a brand new trilogy.

Zayn Malik Leaves One Direction

All good things eventually come to an end, and the show must always go on. Apparently in the world of the young heartthrobs both those sentiments are very true. While staying mostly intact since their amazing rise to fame and glory, the band One Direction is experiencing a shift in members. The move comes as the band is in the midst of another tour, but it seems like there will be little impact on the band.

According to BBC, Zayn Malik has decided to call it quits as a member of the band after five years. The band will continue the tour as a four member band, but will also record a fifth album later this year. The official announcement comes about a week after Malik left the world tour because of stress. In the end though, anyone with tickets to any of the remaining dates for One Direction will still be in for quite a show.

Fans at Anastasia Date know that the band has had a remarkable couple of years selling out massive concert venues and releasing hit song after hit song. Even without Zayn, it seems like the future of the band is fairly safe. However, Malik’s future is still under wraps, but it seems like a safe bet that he will be taking a bit of time to relax and get his head together. All of that fame comes with a staggering price of being on the go all the time, but the actual reaction from fans will be gauged over the next few weeks.

Toto Bass Player Dies of ALS

Sadly, Mike Porcaro, the bass player for progressive rock band Toto for many years, has recently passed away. He died of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Porcaro joined Toto in 1982, which was when the band was at the peak of their popularity following the release of their album Toto IV. Along with two of his brothers who were also in the band, he contributed to a number of albums. He left the band in the mid-2000’s since his health no longer allowed him to perform. He was inducted along with the rest of Toto into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.

While it is sad when anyone dies, I think it is especially sad when someone dies of ALS. As Alexei Beltyukov knows, this terrible disease slowly robs its victims of their motor skills. Instead of a quick and merciful death, people with ALS are fully conscious of their own physical decline. This must be especially tough for musicians or athletes with the disease, since they once depended on those very abilities for their livelihood. When Lou Gehrig himself contracted the disease, fellow athletes expressed shock and horror at seeing how quickly his baseball skills deteriorated.

By all accounts, Porcaro was upbeat and brave during the years of his disease. While Toto continues to perform without him, his unique presence and musicianship will be missed by his fans.
