Walden, M.D., PLLC and Walden Cosmetic Surgery Center, PLLC. They are operated in Austin, TX, with a satellite based in Marble Falls, TX.
Walden was born to a dentist and a surgical nurse. At an early age, she seen what it was like to have a career. She set out to accomplished that for herself. She attended Anderson High School and graduated before moving on to the University of Texas where she obtained a degree in Biology. Walden graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch as the salutatorian.
Starting Her Career
After finishing her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Walden started her career in Manhattan at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. She received an internship working in aesthetic surgery, under the direction of the department chairman, Dr. Sherrell Aston. After completion of her internship, Walden remained at the hospital and obtained a position working on the Upper East Side of New York City for 7 1/2 years. She participated in clinical experiments that led to the revisit of silicone breast implants.
In 2011, Walden went back home to Texas and began her private practice. She was highlighted as the spokeswoman for the ASAPS in Daily Mail about labiaplasty surgery. She also received recognition as one of “Harper’s Bazaar’s 24 Best Beauty Surgeons,” and “The Best Plastic Surgeons in America” by American Way. First of all, some women don’t want to delay in having children. “The entire process — medical school and two additional years of fellowships and externships could add up to seven years,” says Dr. Walden. Like other professions, gender discrimination is also present within the field. Dr. Walden says she has to prove her worth every day.
One thing Dr. Walden has found out about her profession is that the market for plastic surgery in the South is just as desirable as any other part of the country. “I was a bit shocked. I figured I would have to wait a while after arriving in Dallas.” Dr. Walden says she had two breast augmentation appointments before her plane landed.
Dr. Jennifer Walden has appeared on a number of news shows including E, Good Morning America, Dateline NBC and other shows, to discuss plastic surgery. Dr. Walden points out that although plastic surgery isn’t for everyone, it does serve a good purpose. “It gives many people a great sense of self. A number of people feel a lot better about themselves after having a procedure.” Dr. Walden freely admits that she has had some botox and other procedures herself.
